Characters
Roy Temperance
Roy's past is murky. Originally from Aurora, his real name is Temperance, but he broke with the traditions of his guild and chose the name Roy. He is reluctant to talk about his past, and the little information known about him is what he chooses to give. However, he seems very familiar with the pre-Turmoil relics and knows the shanty towns of Shadowlair like the back of his hand. Roy is currently detained in Camp 19, where the arrival of a young prisoner, Innocence, will offer him the chance to escape.

Innocence Smith
A young recruit in Aurora's army, Innocence was captured by Abundance and sent to Camp 19, where he meets Roy. Deeply affected by the war, particularly by the first person he killed, this traumatized child will rediscover hope and zest for life when he encounters Roy, who becomes both his role model and mentor. He will keep a war journal that describes this meeting and the adventures he experiences with Roy.
Sean
A Technomancer of Abundance, Sean is primarily a cold and disciplined warrior-Priest who runs Camp 19 with an iron fist. Although most of the guards under his command are terrified of him, there are some chinks in his icy armor, notably in the form of Mary, his young assistant, for whom he seems to have tender affection.

Mary
An apprentice Technomancer with an eccentric appearance, Mary seems to live in a world of her own. She is clearly very fond of and admires her boss, Sean, and always tries hard not to disappoint him. She is soon intrigued by Roy's knowledge of pre-Turmoil technology and keeps a close eye on him.
Tenacity Williams
Tenacity is a cynical, cruel and disillusioned bounty hunter. A frequenter of the shanty towns in various cities, his reputation as a ruthless tracker precedes him. He is often seen with his dog, a terrifying mastiff as cruel as he is. Roy is no stranger to Tenacity, who sometimes worked with him in the slums of Aurora where Roy lived before the war against Abundance.

Wisdom Phillips
Widsom Phillips is a hero of the war against Abundance and Aurora's current “Dowser”: its leader. Extremely charismatic, he has rallied Aurora's militia around him with the promise of a better future. It was this power and the unconditional support of his allies that enabled him to win the battle of Green Hope against Abundance when it seemed lost. Since the end of the war and his rise to the role of Dowser, Wisdom has become alarmingly close to the Technomancers, with whom he rules Aurora ruthlessly.
Honour Grant
Chief of the armies of Aurora, Honour Grant took part in the ferocious battle of Green Hope alongside Wisdom Phillips, with whom he became friends. If Honour initially admired the Dowser for his extraordinary strategic abilities and his innate ability to attract followers, he was alarmed when Wisdom seized power, clearly favoured the Technomancers and renounced the people. Since then, Honour has been doing his utmost to oppose the authority of the Technomancers, using his privileged position as a folk hero and his friendship with the Dowser. Up to now, this is the only thing that has stopped the Technomancers from getting rid of him.

The Technomancers
The Technomancers are elite combatants whose mystical power lies in a pre-Turmoil Earth technology. Apart from their military role, Technomancers are also guardians of the knowledge. They are interested in any discoveries related to the pre-Turmoil era, and often conduct research on the subject. They have enormous political power and guard their secrets and powers jealously, their mystical powers and speech raising them to a semi-divine status in the eyes of the people.
